Funding support
Fundraising is critical to the operation of the Health Center. Grants and contracts represented 40% of our revenue in Fiscal Year 2005 (FY05), as indicated in the pie chart below. This outside funding is necessary, as the revenue we receive for providing services to patients covers only 59% of the cost of serving many low-income, uninsured working families needing medical, dental, and mental health services as well as translation during appointments, transportation to appointments at affiliate hospitals, health benefits counseling to enroll them in public health insurance programs, and clinical case management to reduce health disparities for cancer, diabetes, and other conditions.
We receive support from foundations, corporations, individuals, and government agencies who enable us to provide a comprehensive range of services to a population that frequently lacks health insurance and needs providers who understand their unique cultural, linguistic, and medical needs.
To partner with JMSCHC in reducing health disparities for minorities and immigrants, improving the health of children, families, and individuals, and enhancing the quality of life for people in our community, please contact Maureen McNally, Development Director, at (617) 208-1518.
