She received her Doctor of Medicine from New York University, completed her Family Medicine residency at Boston University Medical Center, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice. Her interests include family medicine, preventive medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Eastman speaks English and Spanish. Dr. Eastman practices at both main sites.

Caruth, MD – Board-certified in Family Practice in 2004, Dr. Caruth holds undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of the West Indies and a Masters in Public Health from UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Rutgers University. She served her residency in Family Practice at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, NY. Her recent research interest includes occupational asthma and cognition in the older adult. Dr. Caruth speaks medical Spanish and conversational French, and sees patients in Waltham.
 
Anne Marie Forth, MD – Dr. Forth holds a bachelor’s degree in dance and biology from Rutgers, and received her medical degree from Stony Brook University Medical School. She joined the JMSCHC Medical Department in July 2007. She is Board-certified in Family Medicine, having completed her clerkship on the north shore of Boston, and has a background in HIV medicine and Transgender health. Dr. Forth practices at the Waltham site. She sees patients in Waltham.
 
 
Kamau Karanja, MD - Dr. Karanja holds bachelor’s and medical degrees from Brown University. Upon completing his residency in Family Practice at San Francisco General Hospital and his internship in Family Practice at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, NY, he returned to New England where he has been in family medicine practice for several years in the Boston area.  Board-certified in Family Practice, he is a clinical professor of Ambulatory Care and Prevention at the Harvard Medical School.  He joined JMSCHC in June 2008 as Associate Medical Director based in Waltham.

005.jpgLeanne Lee, MD - Dr. Lee received her medical education at the University of Western Australia, specializing in Family Medicine. From 2001-04 she performed her clerkship in the Stamford,CT/Columbia University Family Residency program. She joined the staff of JMSCHC in 2005. She speaks English and has conversational skills in French and Italian. She sees patients at both main sites.


christinenelson                Christine Nelson, MD – Dr. Nelson joined the staff at the Joseph M. Smith Community Health Center in 2006. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri—Columbia and completed her Family Practice residency at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver, CO. Dr. Nelson’s interests include geriatrics and musculoskeletal conditions. She speaks some Spanish. She is based in Allston.

He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and also completed his Family Medicine Residency there. He is Board Certified in Family Practice Medicine. His interests include adolescent medicine and HIV treatment. Dr. Tobierre speaks English and Haitian Creole and see patients in Allston.


 

Casey Fryer, FNP - Casey joined JMSCHC in summer 2008. She holds the master of science in nursing from The Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor of science degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She graduated with a BA from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Casey speaks English and Spanish, and practices in Waltham.

Marianne Matz, FNP - Marianne began practicing in 1999. She received her Masters in Nursing Science from MGH Institute of Health Professionals. She is certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center and speaks English and Spanish. She sees patients at both main sites.

Colleen Pinch, FNP - Colleen received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island. She has been practicing since 1996.She practices at both main sites, and was appointed Associate Director for Advanced Practice Nursing at the health center in 2006.

Cynthia Sershen, FNP – Cynthia joined the staff on graduating from Boston College in June 2007 with an MS in Nursing with emphasis on Family Practice in a community health center environment. She is certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. She sees patients at the Allston site.

Brittany Silva, FNP - Brittany has been practicing as an RN since 2004 and as Nurse Practitioner since July 2005, when she joined the health center. She received her Masters in Nursing Science from the MGH institute of Health Professionals. She is certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. She sees patients in Allston and at the Jackson Mann Complex.
